Manliness can come in many different forms. It can be something fantastically dangerous or a sweet new gadget. In this case, manliness comes in the form of true old-school badassery. To make it more badass, this display of manliness comes in the form of an awesome 86 year-old lady and her crutch. We’ve talked about old man strength, but this story proves that with each new generation people are getting softer.

This is Gwyneth Davies of Treharris, South Wales. She’s an 86 year-old pensioner who had recently suffered from a broken hip and ribs, pneumonia and shingles. She’s a widow of 20 years and worked at Woolwich Arsenal and at a munitions factory in Bridgend during the Second World War. Oh and if you think of breaking into her house, you’re in for the ass-whoopin’ of a lifetime.

One April evening in 2009, Gwyneth was getting ready for bed when she heard a crash from inside her house. There are many pansies out there who probably would wet themself and be too scared to investigate, but not Gwyneth. She instantly sprung into action, swinging open her bedroom door and coming face-to-face with the 26 year old man who had broken into her house.

Gwyneth stated: “I wasn’t going to have this – I thought I’d do something about it. He played right into my hands, so I let him have it.” She grabbed her crutch and said “I’ve got you, lad. You get out from here, I’ve got a walking stick.” As she approached him, the intruder didn’t budge… That is until she cocked the walking stick back and made her move.

Gwyneth ended up cracking the man 4 times over the back with her crutch. She pushed him back and ordered him to sit on a stool she had and wait until police had arrived. The man then burried his face in his hands and began to cry. Gwyneth stood guard, not letting him move until police had arrived.

Gwyneth is a perfect example of how manliness can come in all forms. Gwyneth grew up with men and worked with weapons through WW2. Her awesome display of manliness shows what a sweet generation she comes from. Ladies, this is the kind of woman you should strive to be.
